Land
and Water
( 1988 )
An assured lens
Sham Manchekar is a highily enterprising
photographer
who finds time and energy from his office routine
to spot expressions of beauty in nature.
Two subjects dominate his current presentation
of photographs : view of the Himalayan terrain and
scenes of the sea shores.
In the matter of lighting and textures no two things
could be more different.
But Manchekar graphically captures the dreams of
the mountain, gorges, and viewers of
Amar nath, Ladakh and Leh, while offering with a painter's insight
the poetry of seashores, sunsets and sand.
Manchekar has established an unique rapport with nature
which puts him very high in the ranks of lensmen.
May his life as a magician of the camera be fully assured.
